Hello again! This weekend has been so busy with events going on at the Alliance! Not only did we have Dance Alliance, but we held our Art Royale Preview Party Saturday night!
The artists, sponsors, and guests were there to enjoy music, entertainment, and refreshments. But hey, what better way is there to explain the night than with pictures?

Two days away from the Preview Party...
58 days until Art Royale.
The anticipation is creeping up on all of us at the Alliance! Saturday night is our Art Royale Preview Party, where our artists and other participants can mingle and get a feel for how great this year's event will be!
Pictures from the Preview Party will be posted by Sunday!
Other preparations have been going on around the Alliance lately: Dance Alliance is Saturday! The dance workshop is being held at Cypress High, and of course, yours truly, photographer on staff (haha!) will post pictures from that as well!
Megan has been working hard on the scrapbook that culminates the past year's events at the Alliance. She is probably dreaming about scissors and colored paper by now!
There's alot of excitement around here-- be sure to check back for photos from this eventful weekend!

Behind the Scene!
Hello!! This is Megan Jones and I am also an intern at the Alliance for the Arts. I am an Event Management Major and I am learning about ALL of the new and annual events that take place at the Alliance. I am just so excited to be a part of such a wonderful and exciting organization.
My latest project has been working on a Scrapbook for the annual meeting coming up next week in September.
I have been cutting, copying and pasting publications from newspapers and magazines with past stories of Art Royale, Walk Through the Arts, Angels of the Arts, Gallery Shows, Class Schedules,Jazz Alliance, Kids Summer Camps and so much more. I never realized just how many events and classes the Alliance for the Arts has offered and produced.
Although I have been working hard on the Scrapbook, I have also been helping out with our newest event, Dance Alliance. This wonderful dance workshop and key note speaker recpetion will begin next week and I have a good feeling that this program will be a huge success and will have a good turnout of dancers. Lori has been working so hard on putting this program together and here time and dedication will shine next week at the opening reception!
This is just a short synopsis of whats been going on behind the scenes here at the Alliance for the Arts. Preparation for all of these upcoming events has been timely and exciting for everyone on staff. I look foward to a wonderful year full of great events!

Introducing Season at the Foulds!
Hi, this is Chelsea, a marketing intern at Alliance of the Arts. I started here three weeks ago and at the same time was introduced to the exciting world of the Foulds Theatre! At the end of this month the Alliance proudly opens our first Season at the Foulds featuring musicals, comedies, and chamber music. We showcase producers from all over Southwest Florida, such as Gulfshore Playhouse, Compton and Bennett, and Creative Theatre Workshop.
Marketing the Foulds Theatre is my main project for the semester. I started by meeting the producers and familiarizing myself with the beautiful theatre space. Everybody is super excited about the theater's availability for rental because it offers an intimate space that includes the audience in the show. This week the theatre has begun to undergo some major renovations. We are installing all brand new lights, dimmers, curtains and sound equipment. These upgrades are a great start to a successful first Season at the Foulds!!!

Hello!
Hello all! This is Eugenia, a public relations intern at
the Alliance of the Arts! Things have been pretty
hectic around the office lately, getting things
together for Art Royale, which is only a little more
than two months away! It is a really exciting time
for all of us working on Art Royale.
The artists and entertainment are going to make
the night amazing, and I can't wait to go. By the
way, tickets are still available for only $75 up until
the night of the event-on November 17 they are
$100 at the door.
This year's theme is "The Games People Play,” with
our focus on how artists interpret this idea in their
artwork— anything from painting to acting. Get a
feel for what the Alliance has in store for you this
year by visiting http://www.artroyale2007.com. You can
even see pictures from last years event.
As an intern, I have been working on writing up
press releases to get info out about what is going on
with the Alliance's annual Art Royale. Another task
of mine has been putting all the info about our
artists and sponsors (the people making this night
possible!) up on the website. I even got to sit in on a
meeting with one of the sponsors to discuss how the
advertising signs and tickets will look!
The entire Alliance for the Arts campus is
completely transformed; even if you have been here
a million times you won't recognize the place!
Everyone from painters to performing artists will be
there, so don't miss out!

Welcome to the Alliance for the Arts Blog!
Check back often for updates and stories from behind the scenes at the Alliance for the Arts. We're getting set for a terriffic 32nd season of exhibitions, education, and of course EVENTS, all in support of our mission as the state designated arts agency for Lee County, Florida: to facilitate and nurture the creation, development, promotion, and education for arts and culture.
In pursuit of that ever present goal, however, there's always adventure...so away we go!
